What is a SOC 1 Report?
SOC stands for System and Organization Controls (SOC) reporting. A SOC 1 report is an independent audit conducted by a third-party firm. It checks how well NetSuite has implemented security measures for the privacy and security of client data. It sheds some light on the internal controls and ensures NetSuite clients that their data is safe and secure.
NetSuite offers two types of SOC 1 reports:
- SOC 1 Type I Report: This report provides a snapshot of the security controls in place at a specific point in time. It’s like a picture of the security measures on a particular day.
- SOC 1 Type II Report: This report goes a step further. It evaluates not only the design of the controls but also how effectively they’re implemented and followed over some time. It is usually taken for the last 12 months.
