SAP Sales is a long-standing CRM founded in 1972 in Germany. Its longevity stems from its consistency in providing big and small companies with the best CRM software. It offers various other products to help maintain and grow a good business. However, when it comes to its CRM software, you’ll find e-commerce, marketing, and sales automation tools. These help introduce strategies that drive company sales and improve customer experiences. Read on as I explore SAP CRM features, pricing plans, and what the software is all about.

What Does SAP Sales CRM Do?

With SAP, you can’t say CRM without mentioning customer experience. That’s the primary focus of the SAP Sales CRM solution. Its CRM solutions provide e-commerce, customer data, marketing, customer service, and sales automation tools. This allows your sales and marketing teams to complete their  tasks quickly and effectively. These tools also allow interconnection between departments in your organization, enabling excellent project management flow.

The e-commerce solution enables effective engagement with customers as they shop. You can see their entire shopping journey, allowing you to understand their experiences on your e-commerce business platform. This way, you know what they appreciate and what’s needed to improve their experience, making it easier to strategize and find practical solutions to increase profits.

You can strengthen customer relationships further through customer data management, sales automation, and customer service management. I’ll discuss and explain some of these further in the sections below.

Pricing Plan

Although SAP oozes a global culture that serves big organizations, it also serves small and medium-sized enterprises. It’s also diverse in the industries of companies it partners with, including automotive, retail, banking, oil, gas, and energy. Every business using its CRM and other products is unique and, therefore, requires services aligned with its own business model in terms of company culture, value, and goals.

This is why, unlike most CRM platforms, SAP doesn’t have a price list. Clients discuss what they’re looking for with SAP customer services and get a plan specifically designed for their business needs. Factors affecting the plan price include the number of CRM websites and app users, and the solutions you want to implement in your business. Some SAP customers come in looking for a human capital management resource and end up incorporating CRM solutions. This is why price plans need to  be discussed, and everything the customer needs to grow their business must be incorporated.

Through this discussion, clients leave knowing exactly what they’ll be paying for,how much,, and their chosen monthly or annual payment agreement.

What is SAP CRM Software Best Known For?

With over 50 years in the industry, SAP operates in over 130 countries and is the world’s largest business application software provider. It was initially called Systemanalyse Programmentwicklung, a German name that translates to System Analysis Program Development. The company then later decided to use the abbreviation of this name, SAP, as we know it today.

It’s one of the leading companies that produces software applications to help other businesses in management processes like sales, marketing, and e-commerce. It partners with tens of thousands of  companies, including well-known organizations like Microsoft, Nestle, Toyota, and Blue Diamond Almonds. It has also partnered with and sponsored several sports and entertainment organizations. These include Adler Mannheim, CHIO Aachen, Coldplay, and Cirque du Soleil.

In its partnership with Ferrara, the candy company has increased its contactable customers by 59%. Toyota Motor Philippines has over 1,000  daily logins on their customer mobile app, and Miele takes an average of 48 to 96 hours to close deals. SAP helps companies reduce IT costs by centralizing data management to connect the various departments within an organization. The interconnection helps each department gain access to each other’s information and manage complex issues better with no duplication of data.

This results in increased productivity, smooth workflows, improved operational efficiency, and better customer experiences, leading to increased profits. It does this through various solutions, including CRM and customer experience, spend management, and cloud ERP, to name a few. Its incredible work has gained recognition as SAP has received numerous awards over its decades  of operation. The most recent are Comparably Awards for Best Global Culture in 2024 and Best Company for Diversity in 2023.

SAP CRM’s Key Features

Although the SAP user interface is straightforward, the company offers many products that can be confusing to identify those CRM-related. Also, if you’ve just been introduced to CRM software, you’ll probably want more information on what exactly its features will do for your business. I’m trying to achieve that with this section: list and explain SAP CRM’s key features.

Sales Automation

The SAP CRM app allows a 360-degree view of customer interactions. This allows you to build better relationships and engage with your customers effectively. The sales automation feature enables fast critical selling processes and AI-powered recommendations for your buyers.

The SAP Sales Cloud solution provides a sales automation tool, enabling faster action and more sales. Sales force automation increases profits with more leads, opportunities, and forecast processes. With real-time customer analytics, interactive dashboards, and collaborative tools, your sales productivity will increase rapidly. It also allows you to automate and synchronize customer interactions using popular email platforms like Microsoft Outlook and Google Gmail. This maximizes selling time, improves customer satisfaction, and drives more sales.

The Commerce Cloud does this by helping you create a feature -rich e-commerce platform, introducing new business models and customer interaction points quickly. It also gives you regular insight into staying on top of customer behavior and your online store’s performance. AI-powered tools also provide recommendations to your customers and help them discover new and relevant products.

The SAP CRM has a customer data platform that helps you increase conversion and maintain good customer relationships. It allows you to access customer data across different departments of your enterprise in real time. A 360-degree view of data enables different teams to engage better with clients, thus boosting revenue and growth.

Tools within this feature assist with visualization of customer profiles and associated profiles, insights from AI learning models, data privacy maintenance on every engagement, and fuels personalized experiences while uncovering trends.

Marketing tools within SAP CRM are there to keep customers happy and loyal. The CRM has a fully integrated customer engagement platform across all departments. This saves time and money as it helps you reach customers fast. Quick data access is enhanced by this tool’s integration with the commerce and customer data tools. You can also find more than 60 AI-powered use cases for customization and deployment of campaigns that increase revenue.

Is SAP CRM Easy to Use?

SAP has a straightforward user interface where you can explore all the platform’s products and other primary elements. It features a live chat tab that stays on the screen as you navigate the site and move from product to product. There’s also a learning tab for classes, hubs, and certifications. Additionally, you can join communities on the platform based on topics, events, and products you want to know more about.

The SAP CRM platform also features videos on how to use certain products and reviews from various clients. The sitemap provides a clear list of everything featured on the platform. You can also request a demo or talk to a customer support agent for more information on the product you’re looking for. They’ll give you the price and explain onboarding processes to you.

Suitability Assessment

Before joining the SAP Sales CRM platform, I had to do thorough research to ensure that it worked for my business. Although all its features promised almost everything I was looking for, I had to ensure this would be the case when using it. Looking for an excellent CRM is a lot of work, and you don’t want to transfer your business data into one just to find out it doesn’t work well for you. The sustainability assessment below gives you a list of scenarios where SAP Sales CRM may or may not be ideal for your business:

Choose SAP Sales CRM if:

  • You own a small, medium, or large-sized business
  • You’re looking for more than just CRM software solutions
  • You have an e-commerce website, or you’re planning to have one
  • You have a non-tech-savvy team looking for a user-friendly CRM platform with help available every step of the way
  • You’re looking for experienced CRM software with top and well-known companies to vouch for it
  • You’re looking for a CRM system integrating data from commerce, sales, and marketing departments to cut IT costs and increase productivity
  • You’re looking for a CRM system with AI-powered tools to reduce admin work and push sales faster
  • You don’t want to pay a subscription based on a pricing plan with tools you don’t use

Avoid SAP Sales CRM if:

  • You’re looking for integrated tools for publishing to social media
  • You’re financially over-stretched and looking for a free plan
  • You’re looking for a platform that only focuses on and provides CRM solutions
